Faculty Scholarship Grant
"The Faculty Scholarship Grant has the purpose of providing the faculty opportunity to engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance their professional development. The grant is a stand-alone program and not intended to supplement or replace departmental general funds or other existing funding programs (e.g., start-up, grant and contract cost-share, C2E2, student support, etc.). "FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP GRANT APPLICATIONS SOLICITED Applications for the 2003-04 Faculty Scholarship Grant (FSG) are being solicited from all eligible faculty members. The Contents of Application and FSG Application may be accessed on the web at http://www.admin.mtu.edu/research/vpr/internal/faculty.html . Submit eight copies of your application to the vice president for research no later than Nov. 20. You can also e-mail them to jpolzien@mtu.edu ."


How do I set up a class email list?

Go to the majordomo web site and follow instructions there.
What does the Director of Undergraduate Studies  need to do throughout the year?  (schedule)
  • Before each registration period remind students who have advanced standing that they should see Mary Durfee ahead of time to get the class standing waivers they need
  • Remind of the last drop date
  • Advertise new classes
  • Encourage Seniors to take grad classes if they are interested in grad school
  • Explain Senior rule
  • Have advising meetings
  • Contact transfer students before summer and get them to register for CM2110/CM2120
  • Advertise CM electives and emphasize which classes are offered which years
  • degree audits every semester
  • spring - receive list of graduating seniors and double check that they all have degree audits and "applications to graduate" forms filed
  • Advertise CM minors plus Math, Biochem, Chemistry, Enterprise, Business MSBA
  • Spring - help with teaching assignments; make sure all classes are offered as expected/advertised; make sure no class time conflicts exist
