 1997    9500 books total  with value of $7350
 
 
 
 Pre Sale on April 5th will be from 5-8 p.m.
 April 6th sale times are  10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
 
 Set up time on April 5th - we can begin around noon or
 later or whatever,  discuss it and see what will work out.

      (Please note open times and coordinate
     or change them)
  Solicit faculty,staff, community for donations through
                 newsletters, Tech Topics, Lode, Daily Mining
    Gazette, Radio Stations
  Design posters and table tents
  Posters to public schools, libraries, retail stores, Suomi?
  Send letters to all book dealers in UP & Traverse City?
  Set up sandwich board
  Remove all of above after sale
 
 
 Personnel  - George (chair), Dana, Wil
 
  Pick up donated books from around campus and/or community
  Coordinate movement of books from the Library to the sale

 Student Workers - Faith, Peck

  Obtain commitment from fraternities & sororities to work
   at the sale (set up crew 8-10 people),
    clean up crew - 8-10 people , need vehicles to
   transport unsold books
 
 Arrangements - Dee (Chair),Erin, Karen,Faith
 
  Karen - solicit paper and plastic bags for sale.
   Invite local libraries to come (schools, etc)
 
  Erin  - Determine whether parking tokens are needed and
    if so, make arrangements with Bill Blumhardt
   Contact Backroom Books, etc to arrange for the
    disposal of unsold books.
   Find someplace that will take unsold Readers Digest
    Condensed Books
  Faith - Solicit departments for donations, perhaps thru
    liaisons
   Coordinate disposal of unsold books
  Dee   - Arrangements at MUB and set up of tables
   Schedule people for open sale hours
   Coordinate sale
 
 
- Should we raise the price of books at the sale?  (if so, we would
  need to let Julie and Ellen know now)
- If we can't use email to solicit, should we make up posters or
  how should we get the word out?
