 A.  Art Committee Report

Patricia Van Pelt made a wonderful binder of information about art in the library, and passed it around for us to see.  Phyllis Johnson will put the art binder somewhere in the library where it can be easily referenced by all library users.  Phyllis Johnson showed us the art donation made to the library by Dana Richter – it is a thimbleberry painting by Ellen Torola.

 B.  Blanket Order Update

Terry Reynolds reported that we received 47 blankets from the new vendor and that they have been paid for.  Faith Morrison will send an article to Tech Today about the FVPL blankets.

 C.  Book cart update

Karen Hubbard and Patricia Van Pelt worked on pricing books for the book cart. Terry Reynolds reported that he stocked the book cart with some books over the break.

 D.  2007 Annual Book Sale - Entire Ballroom on April 12 & 13

The price for a bag of books for the bag sale will be $3.  It was determined that the FVPL will need 10 volunteers from 1-3 PM on Thursday, April 12 to help with set-up and 12-15 volunteers on Friday, April 13 from 4-6 pm to help with the packing up of the book sale.

 E.   2007 Friends' Winter Carnival Hot Chocolate & Cookie event - 02/10, 2007 at 11 am

A sign-up sheet was passed around for the Winter Carnival event for who will bring cookies, bring hot chocolate mix, or be at the event. Five to seven boxes of books will need to be priced to sell at the Winter Carnival event.

F.   Next work bee?

The next work bee to price and box books will be February 1, 2007 from 4-5 pm which is our next regular meeting time.  We can meet in the book storage area.

G.  Library requests

There are no library requests at this time, but we discussed the types of requests that the FVPL should seek and support.

H.  Other Business

We discussed the formation of a committee to work on the FVPL blanket.  Don Durfee agreed to be on this committee.  We agreed that Dee Vincent would be a good chair for this committee.  Patricia Van Pelt will contact Phyllis Fredendall at Finlandia to inquire if she or her students might be interested in a blanket design project.

The audit committee has not met not, but plan to set up a meeting time to perform the audit soon.

The meeting adjourned at 4:54 pm.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 01, 2007, 4-5:00 pm, and will convene in the FVPL book storage area on the “garden” level of the library for a book pricing work bee.
