 Terry Reynolds called the meeting to order at 4:03 pm. 

 The minutes of the January 18, 2007 meeting were reviewed and approved.  No regular meeting was held in February.  We had a book pricing and boxing work bee instead.

Terry Reynolds handed out the Treasurer’s report which showed that the FVPL had $15,760.42 as of March 1, 2007.  The Treasurer’s report was approved.

A.  Audit Report

Gail Mroz reported that the audit committee met with Terry Reynolds on February 6, 2007, and that no problems were found.  Gail also told us that Terry Reynolds has kept excellent financial records for the FVPL.

 B.  Art Committee Report   There was no report.

C.  Book Cart Update

      Terry Reynolds reported that we have raised over $500 from book cart sales this fiscal year so far!  The book cart raised about $100 last month.

D.  FVPL Blanket Committee   There was no report.

E.   2007 Friends' Winter Carnival Hot Chocolate & Cookie event

      Some suggestions for the next Winter Carnival sale were to do some pre-event advertising, and have 3 people there for each time slot: One person to man the book table, one person for the cash box, and one person who could make more hot chocolate.

      Children’s books were very popular.

$302.28 was taken in for the FVPL at this event.

F.   2007 Annual Book Sale - Entire Ballroom on April 12 & 13

      We will have a book pricing and boxing bee on Thursday, March 15, at 3:00 p.m. in our book sorting area in the library.  Terry Reynolds will send out an email reminder about the work bee.

      Faith Morrison will write an article for Tech Today asking for book donations.

      Eloise Haller passed out a document she has been working on with the tasks to be completed for the book sale.   We discussed the items on the document.

      We will have a pre-sale on April 12, 2007.  We discussed the idea of having everything for half price for the hour before the bag sale, but determined that it would be difficult to implement, and decided against it.  We discussed the price we should charge per bag for the bag sale.  After much heated discussion and multiple votes, it was decided that the bag price would be $4 (FOUR DOLLARS per bag).

      We discussed Patricia Van Pelt’s email suggestion that we consider having Snowbound Books do a fundraising book sale for the FVPL.  We decided that we would like to gather some additional information on how this might work for us.

G.  Other Business

      We did not have time to discuss the library requests.  These will be discussed at a future meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 4:55 pm. 

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, 4-5:00 pm in the Library.
