Friends,
Thanks and
praise go out to those of us that worked at the book sale this year.
We needed all the help that
we received from you to make this year another successful book sale.
It's great that we brought in
that much money.
Our student groups let us down
this year - my body is complaining today from the last 2 days of manual
labor as it's not used to that
much. We will need to require that they provide names with
times to work and
see if they can fill our needs.
I've sent thanks to our non board
members that worked.
The recycling people at the
end worked out great.
Lots of people were buying up
to 4:50 p.m. at the bag sale as we were boxing up.
Suggestion to call for more
non board members to work.
Suggestion to get 2 more student
groups to help out, keeping the 2 that help us now.
Suggestion to sell maps left
over (over 5000) on the web individually or as a group
- man in
calumet interested in all if it was cheap enough - Dave @ 337-2934
Maps took a lot of time at the
end to reorganize - probably 1/2 hour with 6-7 people working on them.
Bette went down at 11:00 on
Wednesday to get 10's, 5's, 1's and pennies - need more of those.
We had a huge line Wednesday
morning, no cashiers showed up, need more people then. Luckily Mary
agreed to
come over with me.
People that we had lined up
to unpack books on Tuesday left early as there were not enough students
to
bring over
the books fast enough.
Maps sold that cashiers remembered
to mark down - 19 relief maps and 283 flat maps. Some did not sell
at full price either as they
were marked down at 3:30. Most were sold at the full rate.
So sales from them
at the full rate would have
been $378.00.
If anyone has any comments, ideas for next time, please send them to me.
Thanks again to all those who
helped in any way,
Dee
