Chocolate
Cake (Faith Morrison, Sunbeam mixmaster)
2 1/4 Cup flour
1 Cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Mix all the above. Add:
1 Cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegitable shortening
3 squares baker's chocolate,
unsweetened, melted (or substitute 3 Tablespoons cocoa and 1
Tablespoon butter)
3/4 Cup milk
1 1/2 teaspooon vanila
Mix until a thick batter is formed. Add:
3 eggs
1/2 Cup milk
Mix until a thinner batter is formed. Bake in three buttered,
floured, lined with wax paper (don't skip this part) 9" cake
pans. Bake at 325oF for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out
clean from the center.. Turn out of the pan after cooling on a
wire rack for 5-10 minutes (don't fail to turn them out of the pan
promptly). Frost with frosting made from whipped cream with
convectioners sugar and cocoa powder to taste.
