GRADUATE
PROGRAM
Currently,
approximately forty students are studying for advanced degrees in chemical
engineering. Approximately one-half are earning their Master’s degrees,
and the others are working on their Doctoral degrees. A significant
strength of the graduate program in chemical engineering is it’s strong
ties to other departments and colleges. This
interdisciplinary quality is particularly evident with chemistry, environmental
engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science, minerals processing,
and mechanical engineering. External funding for research has reached
over $14 million per year in the College of Engineering and is over
$1 million in chemical engineering, from both industrial and governmental
sources. The high level of cooperation provides distinctive research
opportunities and makes MTU an excellent choice for graduate study.
