Welcome to the Carbon Technology Center at Michigan Technological University. On June 18, 1998, an agreement was executed to form a strategic alliance between Conoco and Michigan Technological University (MTU). This agreement formalized a non-exclusive, continuing program of cooperation focused on four primary areas of mutual interest; namely, technology development, networking, recruiting, and training. The program of cooperation is intended to provide "one-stop shopping" for resources to support the carbon business of Conoco, while providing development opportunities for MTU students, faculty, and staff through participation in leading edge technology and business development. This agreement ended on May 31, 2003. Between June 1998 and May 2003, the CTC received approximately $1,800,000 in sponsored research projects. Faculty from several departments across campus are involved in CTC projects.
