Charter Revision Process

Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering is reviewing and updating its charter throughout the 2007/20078school year.  Each draft below represents a version of our charter that must be reviewed by the department, discussed, and voted on by the faculty.  The status of each draft is indicated.

Current outline of charter
2006 changes were broken into 8 different sections and proposed to be discussed by the Department.  One amendment was added to the draft 29 October 2007 on 14 Dec 2007; on page 11, in the paragraph marked IIIa on teaching evaluation, in the last line the word "instructional" was stricken.  Also, item IV of the list of items to be voted on was removed and remanded to committee.

All sections pass (10 votes required) except number 4 which was returned to committee.  The totals were:

It was proposed by Dave Shonnard 16April08 that the Assessment Committee be made a standing committee in the department.  The department agreed in principle.
