FVPL Minutes

Present: Karen Hubbard, George Love, Dick Rupley, Phyllis Johnson, Mark Griep, Eloise Haller, Faith Morrison
Absent: Amy Hughes, Mary Marchaterre, Terry Reynolds, Don Durfee, Dana Richter, Brian Geiger, Gail Mroz, Patrick Quimby

The meeting was called to order at 3:30 by Chair Dee Vincent.

We discussed Erik Nordberg’s request for a $300 increase for the Archives Research Travel Awards. This was agreed on and the request was passed.

Terry had sent information on the new company that took over our Afghan reproduction. Their minimum order would be 48 vs. our normal 24 order. Karen motioned that we should order the 48 and Dick seconded. Motion carried. The only problem might be that we would need a new licensing fee with the new company. Phyllis is checking this out. We have no more blankets in stock.

Terry also had information regarding the Note Cards. We discussed one question and Karen made a motion and Faith seconded that we would reduce the price per package to $9.00 if someone wanted to purchase 12 sets of cards. Nothing else was decided regarding note cards.

A tentative date was selected for the Annual Meeting – Wednesday, October 25th at 4:00. Everyone please check their schedules and see if this will fit in. A couple of speakers were discussed – an Asst Professor. in Humanities, Erin Smith who would talk about Film or Art Weaver who did a talk on birds that Dick thought was good. If anyone has any comments or additions on these please advise. Also Dick does a talk on an old train robbery and perhaps Erik might have someone here at that time. Also at this time a slate of officers will be voted on.

The next meeting will be on Thursday October 5th.at 4:00.

At 4:00 we all adjourned to the Friends and Artist Reception. Four out of the five artists were there and the Lode was interviewing them for an article. Everyone seemed to have a good time and it turned out very nice. Might have even enticed someone to serve on the Board. Thanks to Phyllis for providing this and to our committee who selected excellent art work.
