The Friends of the Van
Pelt Library
are selling note cards that feature scenes from the early days of
copper
mining in the Keweenaw. These images, shown below, are part of
the
Van Pelt Library's extensive collection of photos, records, and other
materials
that tell the story of the first mining rush in the United States,
copper
mining in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. These images are part of
the MTU
Archives and Copper Country Historical Collection, housed at
Michigan
Tech's Van Pelt Library. (All images are

These cards were developed by the Friends of the Van Pelt Library at Michigan Technological University to raise funds to support the Library and are available in sets of 12 (envelopes included) for $12 each (plus tax and shipping and handling).
To order your cards, send email to the Friends;
please include in your email your name and address, how many card sets
