TECHNICAL ELECTIVES

Process Simulation and Control Center To fulfill department requirements, you must take 12 credits of approved technical electives. Technical electives are any course on the approved list, which includes upper division science, applied science, and engineering subjects.
The list of approved technical electives (pdf) is broken down into chemistry electives, chemical engineering electives, other engineering electives, and other technical electives.  The following minimums must be met with the 12 credits of technical electives:

  1. Minimum 2 credits of chemistry elective,
  2. Minimum 3 credits of CM elective, and
  3. Minimum 3 credits of engineering elective (CM or other engineering)

Note that many of the electives listed are not offered every semester and most have prerequisites.  Also, many chemical engineering electives are only offered every other year, so it is wise to plan ahead as to which courses you will take.  For a listing of when we plan to offer the chemical engineering electives, go to the CM Elective Courses page.
You may double count technical electives with some minor requirements.  See the page on minors for more information.
