ENTERPRISE PROGRAM DESIGN PROBLEM

team

Participation in an Enterprise program design problem can be used to complete the final credit of senior design lab.  The Enterprise program is usually a three-year program with students entering in their second year, although students may join at any time.

Students choosing this option will be given a chemical engineering design project, comparable to those given in CM4861, by their Enterprise faculty advisor during their senior year.  This project is usually relevant to their Enterprise work.  Also, students choosing this option MUST meet the following criteria:

  1. Participate in a minimum of three semesters of Enterprise project work.
  2. Perform in a leadership role within the Enterprise.
  3. Enroll in Enterprise project work or Enterprise special topics class (ENG4990) to substitute for CM4861.  This class must be taken after CM4855 CM Process Analysis & Design 1.  During this class you will be required to complete a chemical engineering design project assigned by the enterprise faculty advisor.
  4. Obtain approval of the substitution from the academic advisor and the department chair.  A letter of recommendation from the Enterprise faculty advisor is required before approval will be given.

---------------------------------------OR---------------------------------------------------

  1. Be completing the Enterprise Concentration.
  2. Enroll in Enterprise project work or Enterprise special topics class (ENG4990) either concurrently or after CM4855 CM Process Analysis & Design 1.  During this class you will be required to complete a chemical design project assigned by the enterprise faculty advisor.

The additional project work credits obtained by participating in the Enterprise Program may be used towards engineering technical electives, or students may elect to pursue an Enterprise Minor or Concentration.

If you are interested in this option, contact the academic advisor before the end of your junior year for more information.
